Sometimes, the puzzles don't print as expected, and this page should help.
When you print a page (e.g. pressing CTRL+P, or clicking 'Print'), you'll usually see a pop-up dialogue box with a print preview and various settings (like the number of copies). This box has various options, some of which can affect how the puzzles print.
Note: due to the zoom level in the print preview, some information might appear to be missing, but the printed version might be correct.
Missing Clues
If the clues are missing, make sure that background images are printed – see the detailed section below.
Print Size
If the puzzle appears too large or small, set the scale to default, or adjust as needed.
Page Margins
If the puzzle is too close to the edge, set the margins to default, or adjust as needed.
Orientation
Portrait orientation is recommended.
Missing Clues
If the clues are missing when you print Calcudoku or Killer Sudoku, you will need to change a setting. This setting is often found under 'More Settings' and is labelled 'Background graphics' or something similar.
There are a wide range of printers, devices, and browsers, so I can't provide specific instructions for all setups, but the process is generally similar.
This is how to do it on a Windows 11 computer using Chrome.
- Press CTRL+P, or right-click and select 'Print', or use the 'Print' option in the menu.
- In the printer dialogue box, select 'More settings'.
- Tick / check the 'Background graphics' box – the preview should now show the clues.
- Click 'Print' to print the puzzle with the clues.
Note: BrainBashers has a Dark Mode option – I recommend not using your browser's dark mode or extensions for BrainBashers
